Backyard pool

It is again time to open your pool and your backyard to family and friends, but make sure you take all precautions to enjoy a safe summer.

Did you know that anyone who is injured in your pool, even if they are trespassing, may have a legal right to file a claim against you for damages? Security in and around your pool is absolutely necessary to protect yourself and others. Drowning is the second leading cause of death, after car accidents, in children under the age of five.

Here are some tips for keeping your pool area safe:

–         Fences and walls at least 4 feet high, surrounding pool

–         Gates should be self-closing, self-latching

–         Doors protected with alarms

–         Use a power safety cover

Fences should be at least four feet high with gates that are self-closing and self-latching.

Doors leading to your pool area should be armed with alarms that sound when the door is opened. And a power safety pool cover is also a good idea.

Pool area maintenance and security will make for an enjoyable summer and peace of mind.
