The American Bar Association has stated that lawyers can read what a juror posts publicly but cannot ask to directly or indirectly communicate with them. The ABA states that would break the long standing rule that lawyers cannot communicate with jurors outside the courtroom.

Judges try to restrict juror postings when they give their instructions to the jury. However, some trial lawyers say it is almost impossible to keep up with the changing technology.
