The Federal Trade Commission Thursday sued Amazon contending that the online giant let children purchase in-app games without the knowledge of their parents.

In 2012, Amazon began requiring a password to okay in-app purchases. What they did not tell consumers is that entering a password opens a window of 15 minutes. During that time, kids can buy games, galore.
