CommunityNo Alabama resident is immune from accidents, and personal injuries don’t discriminate. Personal injuries almost always have a financial impact on our clients.  Our hearts go out to individuals who are struggling; therefore, we do our best to provide them with information that can help them through these rough times.  In the interest of providing this this type of information, I wanted to discuss a service that might be unknown to you – “211.”

The United Way sponsors this public service that connects people to the help they need.  By dialing 211, you can be connected to national, state, and local resources you might not be familiar with.

You call 911 for immediate emergencies such as crimes and accidents, and you call 211 to find resources for overwhelming personal problems.  211 can help with big problems like foreclosure, homelessness, and hunger.  You can also call for solutions to a wide variety of ongoing issues – to name a few, you can call for dental care assistance, mentoring programs, a wide variety of classes, utility assistance programs, help with mental illness and addiction, and career counseling.

You can also visit the 211 website for Alabama at www.211connectsalabama.org.  If you visit the website, you can do a search of organizations to see if any provide the services for which you are seeking.  If you unfortunately find yourself in need, this is a good resource that may be able to point you toward the help you need.  This website can also provide you with information should you be looking for volunteer opportunities or other ways in which you can contribute to those who may need assistance.

As a firm, we are always concerned for individuals in need and we try to support organizations that help Alabama citizens.  With this in mind, our firm’s members support the United Way of Central Alabama.  To find out more about our local chapter of United Way or to discover ways to get involved, please visit http://www.uwca.org/.

If you or a loved one has been effected by a personal injury, please contact our office today for a consultation with one of our attorneys. Case evaluations with our firm are always confidential and free of charge. (205) 324-1212.
