Senior Partner Bob Prince and Associate Blake Williams have resolved another case for their client! Mr. Prince and Mr. Williams recently reached a settlement agreement in a tough case regarding insurance coverage. Our client was struck while walking in a crosswalk by a careless driver. After settling with the careless driver’s insurance carrier for the liability policy limits, Mr. Prince and Mr. Williams turned their focus to resolving our client’s claim for uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage under a policy affording her such coverage. The insurance company denied our client’s claim and refused to pay her for her damages. So, Mr. Prince and Mr. Williams brought a lawsuit on behalf of our client to make the insurance company do the right thing.

After several months of advocating for our client, in court and out of court, we were able to show that our client did in fact have this coverage. As a result, Mr. Prince and Mr. Williams were able to reach a favorable settlement in the case to compensate our client for her damages.

Alabama law requires a minimum of $25,000 in uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. If you decline this coverage, you must sign a waiver. If you have been injured in a wreck and your insurance company says you don’t have coverage, make sure they can produce a signed waiver.
